Entre 10 % et 15 % des femmes qui accouchent pr\u00e9sentent, dans les mois qui suivent, des troubles d\u00e9pressifs plus ou moins s\u00e9v\u00e8res, qui ont un impact n\u00e9gatif \u00e0 la fois sur leur sant\u00e9 et sur la relation avec le nouveau-n\u00e9, pouvant ainsi compromettre le d\u00e9veloppement affectif et cognitif de l\u2019enfant (33). Il s\u2019agit de la d\u00e9pression post-partum, \u00e0 ne pas confondre avec le <strong>baby blues<\/strong>, une condition physiologique et transitoire de fatigue et d\u2019instabilit\u00e9 \u00e9motionnelle imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s l\u2019accouchement, qui se r\u00e9sout g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement spontan\u00e9ment en 10 \u00e0 15 jours.<\/p>\n<p>La <strong>d\u00e9pression post-partum<\/strong> proprement dite peut appara\u00eetre plusieurs mois apr\u00e8s la naissance, persiste en moyenne pendant 3 \u00e0 6 mois et, dans 25 \u00e0 30 % des cas, pendant un an ou plus. Les sympt\u00f4mes caract\u00e9ristiques comprennent l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9, la tristesse, l\u2019abattement, la peur de faire du mal \u00e0 l\u2019enfant et une inqui\u00e9tude injustifi\u00e9e pour sa sant\u00e9, des troubles du sommeil, une perte d\u2019app\u00e9tit, ainsi qu\u2019un sentiment de culpabilit\u00e9 et d\u2019inad\u00e9quation.<\/p>\n\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"section\" s\u2019agit d\u2019une <strong>pathologie multifactorielle<\/strong>, qui r\u00e9sulte de la convergence de diff\u00e9rents \u00e9l\u00e9ments : une pr\u00e9disposition aux troubles d\u00e9pressifs, des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 de la m\u00e8re ou de l\u2019enfant, les changements hormonaux du post-partum, le manque de soutien social, des difficult\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques, ou encore des relations conflictuelles avec le partenaire ou la famille. Pour lutter contre la d\u00e9pression post-partum, il est essentiel d\u2019agir rapidement sur l\u2019ensemble de ces facteurs. En premier lieu, le partenaire et les personnes proches de la jeune maman en difficult\u00e9 doivent l\u2019aider dans les soins au b\u00e9b\u00e9 et all\u00e9ger sa charge quotidienne, afin qu\u2019elle puisse se reposer. Les visites \u00e0 domicile de sages-femmes et de professionnelles de la petite enfance dans les semaines suivant la naissance, ainsi que la participation \u00e0 des groupes d\u2019entraide, apportent s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et contribuent \u00e0 r\u00e9duire le stress. Dans les cas les plus s\u00e9v\u00e8res, le recours \u00e0 un sp\u00e9cialiste est n\u00e9cessaire et un traitement m\u00e9dicamenteux peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre b\u00e9n\u00e9fique.<\/p>\n<p>Mais, comme de nombreuses maladies du corps, la d\u00e9pression post-partum peut en grande partie \u00eatre pr\u00e9venue. Souvent, les femmes qui d\u00e9veloppent des troubles d\u00e9pressifs apr\u00e8s la naissance de leur enfant en souffraient d\u00e9j\u00e0 pendant la grossesse, m\u00eame si sous une forme plus att\u00e9nu\u00e9e. L\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9, l\u2019isolement social, les conflits familiaux et les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 de la m\u00e8re ou du f\u0153tus sont d\u2019autres signes pr\u00e9curseurs de la d\u00e9pression post-partum qui devraient alerter la femme elle-m\u00eame, son entourage et les professionnels de sant\u00e9 qui l\u2019accompagnent.
