This can lead to serious consequences such as <strong>miscarriage<\/strong>, <strong>preterm birth, low birth weight, and intrauterine growth restriction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In newborns exposed to smoke in utero, the risk of <strong>sudden infant death syndrome<\/strong> (<strong>SIDS<\/strong>), <strong>respiratory diseases, and neurological development disorders<\/strong> is increased. Even<strong> passive smoke exposure after birth<\/strong> has harmful effects, impairing lung function and increasing the incidence of <strong>respiratory infections<\/strong>, <strong>middle ear infections<\/strong>, and <strong>asthma<\/strong>. An <strong>efficient kitchen hood<\/strong> with adequate extraction reduces the accumulation of these harmful compounds, protecting the infant from potential respiratory irritation, asthma, and allergies.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #006271;\"><strong><u>Paints and Coatings<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Synthetic paints may contain v<strong>olatile organic compounds<\/strong> (<strong>VOCs<\/strong>) like benzene and formaldehyde, which release vapors for weeks. It is advisable to use <strong>water-based paints<\/strong> certified for <strong>low VOC emissions<\/strong> to ensure a healthier environment.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #006271;\"><strong><u>Fragrances and Deodorizers<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Many air fresheners contain phthalates and chemical solvents that may act as endocrine disruptors.
